Welcome Letter

We are very excited about the upcoming 2010-2011 PGITI Year. We hope you had a relaxing summer with family and friends and are ready for all the fun events that your Leadership Team has been busy planning for you during the summer. We are grateful for the support that P&G offers our group, both financially and with help from many individuals.

Welcome to our Newcomers who have recently moved to Cincinnati. PGITI’s main mission is to help our Newcomers and to network to help one another. Newcomers, please do make an effort to find some time for yourself amidst all the confusion of your move to Cincinnati, getting children settled into school, unpacking boxes, taking your driver’s license test, etc. We hope you will come to the Welcome Back Coffee at Kenwood Country Club at 10 a.m. on Wednesday, September 15th.  This is an event where talking never stops as folks reunite from the summer, share experiences, sign up for interest and language groups, and where we go out of our way to make our Newcomers feel welcome. It is a great place to also bring any questions you might have to let us help you.  If you are already a member, please make a big effort to look for our Newcomers who will be wearing nametags identifying them. If any of the Newcomers needs help finding the venue, please e-mail one of the LT members listed on the website http://www.pgiti.com/pages/content/leadership.html  and we can arrange to give you directions or have someone drive you to the event.

The Welcome Back Coffee will again showcase the PGITI Leadership Team (LT) and 20+ Language and Activity Groups. We received such positive comments from last year’s coffee that it was decided to stay with the same idea.  Each LT Committee Chair(s) as well as the Interest/Language Group Leader(s) will dress in costume to represent their particular office and or Activity/ Language group. This will give you the opportunity to easily find the Leader, ask questions, and decide if you would like to join that group. The Interest Groups offer members a variety of activities and language group options in a smaller group setting than the larger coffee/event gatherings. It is an easy way to make new friends and/or reunite with old friends and share common interests. Besides all this, there will be a vast array of delicious food and an area where you can sit and enjoy one another’s company.

We will also be distributing the new Membership Directory for 2010-2011 and providing information about the upcoming events planned for the year. So mark the date on your calendar and come and join us.

The Membership Committee is busy planning the 5th Annual Welcome Back Picnic for families on September 26th at Miami Riverview Park in Loveland. Get ready for lots of family fun, games, good food, and a time to visit with other PGITI members, spouses/partners, and families. So grab you sunglasses, spouse/partner, and children and come ready to eat and party.

The Program Committee is planning a Comedy Night on Saturday, October 9th at the Heritage Club, Mason.  The evening promises to be an entertaining night with comedy by Steve Mazan (writer for Ellen DeGeneres and who has appeared on David Letterman). So plan your date night ahead. This will definitely be an evening filled with plenty of laughter!

NEW! NEW! NEW! NEW ADDITIONS THIS YEAR!

1.      We are pleased to present the 2009-10 PGITI Annual Report. This report highlights the past year's events in keeping with the mission and purpose of PGITI. A highlight of last year included in the report is that total participation reached a staggering 47% increase over last year. Many thanks to all of you that planned and executed wonderful events for our membership to network, socialize and make new friends. 2.      We are happy to announce our very own PGITI Library. Susan Fakoukakis has joined the Leadership Team this year as our new Library Chair. The purpose of the Library will be to help connect our membership to a world of information that is relevant to their transition as well as to address the unique needs of the group. We plan to have books, published articles, website links, etc. available to our membership. If you have read any books that you would like to suggest to add to the Library collection or if you have any books you wish to donate to the Library, please email Susan at musemom3@hotmail.com. These books will be available for checkout at all Coffee Connection Events. Look for more news about the launch of the Library Page on our website.

Please remember to check your webpage www.pgiti.com on a regular basis to learn of the most current information about event details for PGITI, P&G News, Community Events, Community Links, Resources (Marketplace, Welcome Guide), etc.

We wish to thank the Leadership Team for working so hard behind the scenes during the summer months to provide the members with so many ways to connect and help one another. We also wish to thank the Interest Group Leaders. All of these positions are voluntary and require hours of work. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

We are looking forward to seeing you at the Welcome Back Coffee! Please come and join us!
